10/15/2018 0 Comments Animal Photography AssignmentIn this weeks photo assignment, I decided I wanted to pick animals as my subject. I had ordered some lights because I had an idea for a different shoot but decided this might be a cool way to spice up my image. I got some awesome shots of my cat. He seemed more interested in the lights than me taking his picture, so he was sometimes moving. The place where I was taking my photos also had to be dark enough to get the lighting effect, so I had to compensate with my ISO. I enjoyed this shoot, and my cat was a great model! "Light Show" f/5.6 - 1/100 sec. - ISO 1600 In this image, I brought up the exposure just a little due to the fact that the shot was a bit too dark. I took some shadows away in an attempt to expose my cat's face more with the lights. I also adjusted the highlights to try to achieve a brighter effect with the lights that made them pop more with my cat's eyes. The only other things I did was add some tint and adjust the saturation slightly. Here are some of my other photos that I liked but weren't my best. It was a hard choice to pick between a lot of these photos. I really love the image where his tongue is out.

10/11/2018 0 Comments Car Retouch Photoshop AssignmentThis assignment helped teach the basics, and the advanced tools I can use to edit and fix my photos in Photoshop. I'm excited to be able to apply these techniques to my upcoming images. You can see the before and after of the car below. With this week's photography assignment, I decided to go with the topic of landscape and nature photography. I drove around and looked for some beautiful places to shoot and stumbled upon some fields at the perfect moment. I got some beautiful shots of the golden sun setting on a singular tree in a field and liked the shot. I learned to play with my light more and that you have to wait for the perfect moment to get the right shot. I love this medium and hope you like it as well! "Fall Feelings" f/6.3 - 1/200 sec. - ISO 250 With this image, I decided that the foreground was a little too bright, so I decided to darken it a little to contrast with the background. I brought down the exposure and also dropped some of the shadows in this image. I wanted to capitalize on the beautiful lighting and focus on contrasting it with the rest of the image. I also added some clarity in order to help with the sharpness of the image. Here are the other photos that I thought were good but not my best.
10/4/2018 0 Comments Pop Art Photoshop AssignmentAssignment Description: In this assignment, we were introduced to Photoshop by using elements such as layers, guides, canvas resizing, threshold dialogs, and anchor layers. The assignment was to create a pop art version of a specific picture you took. I decided to do a picture of myself. ~Original Image for Reference~ "Pop Art Me" What I Learned From this Project:
I learned how to use the basic compositional/editing skills on photoshop. This specifically helped me learn the tools that I will most likely be using for future photography projects. This assignment was lots of fun and accomplished the goal of teaching me the Photoshop basics. For this weeks photography assignment, I decided to pick the medium of black and white. I used my sister as my subject and wanted to work with the light in the image and highlights of her hair. I did learn that I may want to start shooting when more light is available for the photos and image subject. It was definitely lots of fun! "Sleeping Beauty" f/2.5 - 1/200 sec. - ISO 400 With this image, I first turned it to black and white. I then brought down the exposure a little bit due to the fact that the image was a little bright and brought up the contrast a tiny bit to help contrast the grass versus her bright, golden hair. I also added some clarity to help with the sharpness of the image. Here are some photos that I thought were good, but didn't quite make it.
9/21/2018 0 Comments Shooting Assignment #1 InspirationFor my first shooting assignment I have chosen to focus on black and white photography. Some of the following pictures serve as inspiration for shooting: I absolutely love how the photographers approached these photos. I think it's very interesting how they used the light in order to make a difference in how the picture looks by highlighting the subjects. I think I'll try to find someone to take some photos with and experiment with similar lighting. I'm very excited to try this out!
9/19/2018 0 Comments Composition AssignmentAssignment Description: The objective of this assignment was to understand that composition is what makes the difference in photos and go and shoot an example of a multiplicity of compositions. The composition is the "ingredients" in photos. They make the photos more visually and aesthetically pleasing, without any additional editing. What I Learned From this Project:
I not only learned how to compose my photo to make it more pleasing but I learned that the different ways you take a particular picture could make the difference in how the picture looks, whether it be more or less pleasing depending on how the image was taken. I also learned that I have a lot of work to do to get to the point I want to be at with my knowledge of photography. 9/18/2018 0 Comments Welcome to my Blog!Hey there! Welcome to my blog.
